PARAF - Izleti (1981)












































After the album "A dan je tako lijepo počeo" Valter Kocijančić left the band, until quitting his musical career and becoming a teacher, which is also his current occupation. The new members had become the vocalist Pavica Mijatović, using the pseudonym Vim Cola, and guitarist Klaudio Žic. The latter soon after left the band and the new members had become the guitarist Mladen Vičić "Riči" and keyboard player Raul Varlen. With the arrival of the new members, PARAF also changed their musical style, moving towards post-punk, influenced by the popular British bands of the genre. The new musical orientation was presented to the wider audience on the second studio album "Izleti", featuring the songs "Pobuna bubuljica", "Nestašni đački izleti", "Javna kupatila" and "Federico u bačvi", the latter being inspired by the Federico Felini film "Casanova". ATOMI - U zanosu (1962-1963)



ATOMI was formed in Zagreb, Croatia (ex-Yugoslavia) in 1960. They were one of the first instrumental rock groups in Zagreb founded by Miro Wohlfart, Ninoslav Kožul, Darko Brozović, Mišo Zozolly and Josip Dajčman. They recorded only one EP and they split in 1963.

INDEXI - Modra rijeka (1978)

INDEXI - Plima (1972) EP












































At the beginning of the 70's INDEXI toured extensively and played at many pop festivals, making plans at the same time for recording their first LP album. Producers in the phonographic companies, however, insisted on their making hit-singles only. In this period they played in Soviet Union, Poland and Bulgaria in addition to frequent concert performances across former Yugoslavia. This is their fourth EP from 1972. (from exyupoprockmadness)

KORNELYANS - Not An Ordinary Life (1974)








































"Not An Ordinary Life" is the second album by KORNI GRUPA (aka KORNELYANS. Album was recorded in Italy with better sound equipment and more careful production. The material ranged from the complex jazzy progressive rock of the title track to the sentimental (but memorable} ballad "Generation 1942". "Fall Off The Land Of Woman" was a re-recording of "Bezglave Ja-Ha Horde" from their first album. This is one of the best Yugoslavian rock albums ever made, really a great achievement. NIRVANA was an prog-rock band from Zagreb (Croatia), active in first half of 70s in former Yugoslavia. Members were: Krešimir Šoštar (guitar), Tomas Krkač (bass) and Zdravko Štimac (drums). This is their one and only single record from 1975.

SUPER NOVA - Super Nova (1985-89)










































One of the first critically acclaimed acts was the rock band SUPER NOVA from Skopje, which utilized rap music elements in some of its songs. The group recorded several rap music tracks for the music production branch of the Macedonian Radio-Television, including "Hip-hop blues", Rap, "Vero" and others, some including pop, rock, funk, reggae or other elements. One of those songs was the anti-war themed "Rapovanje". Its catchy rhyme, ("Better to rap, than to wage war") made it very popular across the country in 1989. In the same year, they performed at two prominent festivals in Subotica and Zaječar). The most notable members of the group were: Vikto Mastoridis (guitar, vocals), Miki Kostadinov (drums), Vlatko Georgiev (keyboards) and Vlasto Janevik-Lucky (bass). EKATARINA VELIKA - Live 1986 (1987)





































Album "Live 1986" EKATARINA VELIKA recording at the Zagreb, in club Kulušić, on November 2, 1986. The band promoted the release of the live album in Beograd during January 1987 and triumphed at Dom Omladine with six sold-out shows.
