ZDRAVO - Vikend fobija (1977) Single
ZDRAVO was formed in 1976 in Beograd (Serbia) by the disk jockey Boban Petrović. Having gathered several teenagers and several Belgrade musicians, Petrović intended to form a band which would perform communicative disco music with funk influences. In order to attract media attention, Popović chose the name Zdravo after the youth magazine "Zdravo", which Politika Newspapers and Magazines started publishing at about the same time. The first lineup consisted of Boban Petrović (vocals, keyboards), Dragan Jovanović (guitar, later a member of the hard rock band Generacija 5), Branko Kojić (bass guitar, later a member of the new wave band Grupa I), Vlastimir Cvetković (drums), and vocalists and dancers Boža Jeremić, Vladislav Kukolj, and Branko Popović. The band also performed with female dancers, African girls from Zaire. The band's only big hit was the song "Vikend fobija", released in 1977. Although the song became a hit, it was generally disliked by the critics. Soon after, Jovanović left the band to form Generacija 5, so Popović invited at the time unknown guitarist Momčilo Bajagić to join the band. However, Bajagić refused the invitation, and the new member of the band became a former Innamorata member Branko Pešić "Amerikanac". In August 1977, Zdravo performed as one of the opening bands on Bijelo Dugme concert at Hajdučka česma, at the end of the same year, they performed as an opening band on Indexi Yugoslav tour. As Petrović was at the time in a relationship with singer Slađana Milošević, the band played on her debut single "Au au", and Milošević often performed with the band. In 1978, the original Zdravo lineup disbanded, and Petrović continued performing under the name Zdravo with various musicians, also performing with the band Orion. After releasing the single "Žalba", Popović disbanded the band, and released the following two singles under the name Boban Petrović & Zdravo, also recording the single "Moram" with Gordana Ivandić in 1979. RADOMIR MIHAILOVIĆ-TOČAK - R.M. Točak (1976)
RADOMIR MIHAILOVIĆ TOČAK is guitarist, composer and leader of the band SMAK. His playing style is characterised by mixture of emotional expression and unique technique. Among other things, his specific style includes skillful fingerpicking and vibrato techniques. In many compositions he uses non-standard string tunings along with natural effects obtained from the guitar amplifier. For a long time he's been running his own guitar school. As a solo artist he took part in many recording sessions of other bands. Together with Slobodan Stojanović on drums and Mikica Milosavljević on bass, he is playing in a trio called TEK. He also composed soundtracks for film and theatre, and in 1994 he was awarded for the "Byzantine Blue" film score. Točak is also engaged in experimenting with computers while composing. (by Sead S. BIJELE STRIJELE - Izvorne snimke (1962-1964)
BIJELE STRIJELE was formed in 1961, in Zagreb, Croatia. In the beginning they played covers of Cliff Richard and The Shadows, The Beatles and later they made their own songs. They were one of the first bands in ex-Yugoslavia who had their own songs, and that made them very popular. Their EP record "Svi trče oko Sue" was the first beat record released in ex-Yugoslavia. They split in 1966 because they couldn't adapt to new changes in music which came together with long hair bands. The style of Bijele strijele was mix of beat with early rock'n'roll and twist. Their sound was raw with great teenage vocals. They had two guitar players and two singers, and of course bass and drums. And that made their sound a bit different from their english and american idols. (from wanadoo.nl)
