TONI STUDENY - Još šećera mi daj (1973) Single
TONI STUDENY was an Croatian singer known for his work in the rock band ROBOTI and THE FIVE UP and the hit from the 1966 "Mramor, kamen i željezo". Toni Studeny became a singer in the band ROBOTI in the autumn of 1964, after the group's singers Žarko Dančuo and Ivan Čižmek and bassist Vasilij Čaplinski left the band. He went to Austria with the ROBOTI for a six-month engagement. There, Studeni heard the then-popular song by the German musician Drafi Deutscher "Mramor, Stein und Eisen bricht" and he translated it into Croatian as "Mramor, kamen i željezo". Upon returning to Zagreb, they recorded that song for Radio Zagreb and then for Record label Jugoton, and it soon became a big domestic hit. Toni Studeni and Roboti were major stars of early Croatian rock. However, after performing in German clubs in 1969 around Düsseldorf and Koln, Toni Studeni returned to Zagreb due to vocal cord damage and withdrew from the scene. After that, he worked for a while as a disc jockey, and then transitioned to radio journalis as a collaborator on the show "Crvena jabuka" of Radio Zagreb. He worked at Radio Zagreb until his untimely death in 1999. This is his only one single record from 1973. (from wikipedia)
